Changdeokgung Palace

We arrived in Seoul on Thursdays the 24th of September. Little did we know was that this Saturday until Tuesday, 4 days, where national holidays (similar to Thanksgiving), where all of Seoul leaves to family in there hometowns elsewhere. It was funny to see the cities hustle and bustle on the Friday and a deserted Seoul on Saturday. For getting around and using the metro it was a bless. For access to the sights not so much, as many of them where closed, like the toilet museum, which Sanne wanted to visit desperately.

One of the places that was still open was one of the four palaces in Seoul. Even better, it was free today because of the holidays. So there we went to the beautiful Changdeokgung Palace on a bloody hot day.

It's pretty big. Sanne in it for reference purposes 🙂

The palace was very different from the buildings in Japan, much more colourfull.

The grounds around the main palace are huge. We wandered around for a couple of hours, between a labirinth of smaller buildings and temples.

Many girls could be seen in traditional dresses.

When one of them tripped, I was quick to snap a picture.

And so was Sanne
