From the 12 until 13 September we visited mount Fuji. We tried to see it earlier 3 times, at different locations, but the weather was bad so we couldn’t see it. So we tried our luck again at Kawaguchiko, one of the five lakes around Fuji…
We left our cockroach palace quite early, 8:30 AM we went out. We didn't sleep enough, it was be very humid and we had 15 kilos on our back. For all those reasons we couldn't fake a smile on the picture and decided to choose the least bad photo because I (Sanne) looked like a defeated pile of cr*p.
We had to wait for our second train so we decided to have a little refreshment. Araldo had a passion fruit cocktail and I had a rose dream one, so romantic ^^
We walked around Kawaguchiko and decided to have a look at the gem museum.
Don't you think nature does an awesome job?
This used to be wood as you can see, now it looks like fairy wings.
"I could make so much juweliery out of it 😛 "
There is a meme going on on the Internet which is "everything is a dildo if you're brave enough", this one should be entitled "everything is a vagege if you are brave enough".
So hentai in here!
The lazy way to the top
Nice view on top.
We walked further to the top, were we found a little shrine.
We started walking down the mountain and we saw the base of Fuji, but it was to cloudy at the top of it.
We ate Fugu (blowfish) that night and stayed alive. It tastes a bit like chicken, but maybe that was just it, who knows?
Our traditional Japanese style room at the hostel.
Araldo woke up at 6am and got out to make this picture while I was sleeping. Fuji was still in the clouds. Haha too bad Araldo, nice try though 😉
The next day we had to leave in the afternoon to Kiso, but we had one last walk near the lake.
And then Araldo got really excited when he saw this.
Suddenly the nice fresh air disappeared, thanks to the smelly dead fish.
And here it is at last! Mount Fuji!
Japan has a huge variety of butterflies.
Bye bye said the butterfly. See you in Kiso!
